Mehdi Ben Lazreg won the Best Student paper award at ISCRAM2020 with his paper on Semantic Decay Filter for Event Detection. Ben Lazreg successfully defended his doctoral thesis in April 2020.

ISCRAM stands for the Annual conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management. This 2020 conference was to take place in Blacksburg, Virginia from May 24th-27th, 2020. The conference was postponed until 2021 due to the Corona pandemic. The contributions this year has been evaluated by the award committee. 

The award committee consisted of  José Canós (chair), Julie Dugdale, Yuko Murakama, Andrea Tapia, and Hemant Purohit.  The winners and nominees in are listed below:
