Jose Maria Sarriegi Major Catastrophe Research Award

Fundación Aon España and the Catastrophe Observatory in Spain have decided to create the Jose Maria Sarriegi Award for the best academic research article on topics related to disaster management that has been published in the previous two years in a specialized journal. Submission date 15th of September 2019.

In memory of the tragical death of an excellent scientist, the coordinator of Smart Mature Resilience, the Fundación Aon Spain and the Catastrophe Observatory have created the “Jose Maria Sarriegi Award” for the best academic research article on topics related to disaster management that has been published in the previous two years in a specialized journal.

The award has a prize of 1.000 euros, sponsored by the Fundación Aon España. 

Papers presented in the 2019 Call must address the Climate Change Threat in one of the following topics considered of special interest for this call for papers:

  • Resilience.
  • Cimate Governance.
  • Critical Infrastructures.
  • Climate Change and Urban Areas.
  • Risk Management.
  • Predictive Tools.
  • Awareness.

The application deadline this year is 15th September.
