SmartRescue collects data at emergency drill in Mandal, Norway

SmartRescue will participate in a full scale emergency drill on 24 of September 2013 by collecting data through smartphone sensors. The scenario is a bomb attack in the city center of Mandal. 1000 people will be involved in the drill.
An app to collect sensor data is installed in 4 Samsung Galaxy phones. 4 selected emergency responders will use the phones with the app installed and carry them in their pockets. The implementation of the data collection is unobtrusive, which mean it will not disturb the drill process.
The data collection is a test that will give the researchers valuable input in their quest for better ways to utilize communication in crisis situations.
